On Sunday and Monday Night I watched Basketball Wives the Reunion. I have never watched this show except the last two episodes before the Reunion. Based on watching these two episodes which were when the clique went to Spain and when they had the season finally of Tami and Evelyn "fighting". Now off watching these two I thought that this show was entertaining for reviews of how "basketball wives" live their lives. When after watching and doing some research most of these women are not married to basketball players at all or are in the process of divorcing them. One would think that the show would be about how basketball wives act in the public eye such as "LaLa Vasquez" and what they do to maintain their marriage and some insight on what it is like to be married or in a relationship with a athlete however this show does just the opposite. It shows how ghetto and off balanced these women are. I believe that most of the women on the show are on there for the money because they are too high on the horse to get a real job in a real profession. With the "recession" we are in as American this show deserves the SMH Award (Shaking My Head) because that is what I did the majority of watching what I watched. I would prefer to spend my time watching something that is going to bring positivity to African American Women and not show them bickering off "who can raise their leg the highest" or who has not seen "food stamps". In closing this show as a whole is just a shame to women of America in my opinion and possibly just possibly for the new season "Season 3" which I dont get why is being made. But maybe they could show some of the positive things in regards to being a "Basketball Wife" and not focus on the negative and non-relevant factors.
Just my 2 cents
First of all they need to be actual wives,as mentioned in your blog. Second VH1 needs to stop airing shows that depict blacks and Latino's in a negative light. The only message I get from this show is that minority women are materialistic as well as ill-mannered. The 3rd season will be produced because of demand. I'm guilty of tuning in myself.
